To outsource, nor not to outsource?

I feel guilty when I turn down work. However, I also know it's a good sign when my clients are coming to me with rush orders, because that means I've built up a solid reputation as the go-to guy, the one who gets it done, on time, with superior quality, and without fail.

I've been maxed the last couple of months. Today I've had two separate rush orders offered to me, and I've begun to wonder if I shouldn't start outsourcing some of my freelance work to other, budding writers who, like myself once upon a time, are desperate to find work. I wouldn't be able to pay that great, but some pay is better than no pay for a starting writer. And it's writing credits, even if they are only ghost-writing.

However, I swore after my last business in construction that I would never own a company ever again, and the moment you start outsourcing and having employees, you go from being self-employed to being an employer, and that turns into a business.

I like money, but I also like my freedom. Decisions, decisions.
